Project Life- Week 23 (The week of crazy).

This year, I am excited to capture my daily pictures and life using digital project life. Each year, I design scrapbook pages in Photoshop and then print them in a photo book at the end of the year. These photo books are one of my favorite things in the world. It’s fantastic to have my pictures in print, where I can happily flip through them.

Today, I am sharing week twenty-three. It was a busy, busy week of work and fun.

Here’s my full spread:

blog-week23

Week of: June 2- June 8.

What happened this week: This week was pretty insane- lots of farming (always), shooting a beautiful wedding, and a fun trip to the lake. I seriously felt like I ran from one thing to the next. It was quite crazy.

Anything special in this spread: These bright colors are awesome and just perfect for this week of fun outside pictures!

Overall thoughts: I’m still really enjoying this project and love looking at our memories all recorded on these pages.

Standing Guard.

Justice is generally a pretty laid back dog. He’s the laziest dog I know and spends the majority of his time sleeping. Lately, he’s taken up a new hobby- bunny hunting! But remember he’s lazy, slow, and pretty uncoordinated. Imagine my surprise when he actually caught and killed one in our backyard.

Since that day, he’s discovered a new passion. He sits at the windows and watches for rabbits to hop across our front guard. He then barks his incredibly loud bark and scares my. I can’t tell if a serial killer is breaking in or if he just spotted a bunny. Drives me nuts! It’s a good thing he’s so stinking cute!

191/365- 197/365.

191/365: Nail day. In the last year, I’ve taken up a new “hobby”- painting my nails. This is seriously a totally new obsession and I kinda love it. I do my own Gelish at home. Apparently, I was feeling a little dark and moody when I picked up last week’s colors! Ha.

192/365: Ash’s Birthday Party. Tonight, we had a small birthday part for Ashley at Grammy’s house. Afterwards, we headed to watch the Musical Texas. It was our first time seeing it all and we were majorly impressed!

sm120140711-LP9A6910ashbdayparty193/365: Date night with my silly guy. On Saturday, we enjoyed a long awaited date night away from the farm. Colby struck this silly pose before we left.

194/365: Fifty-three days post planting. The corn is getting huge now. Hot days make it shoot up quickly. I still need to do another post comparing how it’s grown in the last two months.

195/365: Jamey’s visiting. My baby sister is here for the week hanging out with me. This is how she spends a lot of her time.

196/365: The farm at sunset. This week, I’ve been going out with Colby in the evenings to check the sprinklers and motors. Our weather has been cool and perfect. This is a view of the farm right after sunset.

197/365: Little chef. Today, I put Jamey to work. She cooked supper- pigs in a blanket. (And yes, she brought more than one shirt and actually did laundry this week! Ha.)

I will be back next week with more daily pictures!

Sarah [NurseLovesFarmer.com] - Glad you got a date night in, they can be few and far between during these seasons! Corn is looking great and I have given up on my nails…they just get so dirty from gardening!

Project 2014: Week 22 (the Pretty week).

Today, I will be sharing week twenty-two, which I’ve decided should be called the pretty week. I love the cards and colors I used to capture this ordinary week in our lives.

Week of: May 26- June 1.

What happened this week: It was lot of the normal stuff- farming and more farming. Brantley came over and visited. On Sunday, Colby got a free day and we made a quick trip to Amarillo.

184/365- 190/365.

184/365: Husband’s Working Late Dinner. What does Marla make for dinner when my sister-in-law is in charge of feeding the crew? Something easy. On this night, it happened to be grilled cheese and wine! Ha.

185/365: Terry & Joe. Our Forth of July was pretty much any other day complete with working and more working. I brought dinner out to the farm. This is Joe the cat getting a check up from my Father-in-Law. The poor kitty seems to have a hurt paw.

186/365: Almost done. Today, I went out and rode with Colby. He was soooo close to finishing up wheat harvest.

sm120140705-LP9A6861wheatharvest

187/365: Puppy dog eyes. This dog drives me crazy and melts my heart… all at the same time.

sm120140706-LP9A6871justice

188/365: Late night dinner. In the summer, we have dinner ridiculously late- like 10PM. It’s probably one of the top ten worst things about farming.

sm120140707-LP9A6883colby

189/365: Homemade bread. Tonight, I made (with the help of my bread machine) a loaf on delicious bread. It’s so photogenic.

sm120140708-LP9A6889homemadebread

190/365: Twenty-two. My little sister, Ashley, turned twenty-two today! I went over to her house for girl talk and wine. I also forced her to take this picture and promised to black and white it. (She’d already been on a run after walking all day as a dental assistant.) She told me I couldn’t put it on facebook, but said nothing about my blog! 😉

I will be back next week with more pictures!
