Monthly Archives: June 2012My baby sister, Jamey, spent last week at our house. I was almost fourteen when she was born and she will always be a little baby in my eyes. She’s turning ten in August and I’m afraid she may be too cool for me soon. I mean, she’s even wearing silly sunglasses from Claire’s. I remember… I feel like we are on day 150 of wheat harvest, but the calendar tells me it’s really only day thirteen. I’m not driving the tractor or even cooking that many meals this year because I have a job in town, but it’s still dragging by. Last year, it was so dry that even the poor cacti suffered from the lack and water and refused to bloom. This year, we are enjoying a beautiful… After three weeks of fifteen hour days, the 2012 Triticale Harvest is officially over! Triticale is a wheat hybrid which grows really, really tall and is chopped when wet, treated, and fed at feadlots.
